Who are We?

A Private Montessori School registered with the Ministry of Community and Social Services in Toronto, adopting the Montessori method (as prescribed and administered by the Association Montessori Internationale, founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929), offering a Casa (pre-primary school) programme for children aged 2 1/2 - 6.

Since 1995, We are member schools of 'Montessori For Children' who have branches in Hong Kong (est. 1986) and in Singapore (established 1992 and 1998).

To educate children aged 2 1/2 - 6 with a view to preparing them for Primary schooling over a period of 3 years, exclusively using the Montessori method as approved by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. We prefer to admit children who after joining us, go on to complete 3 years of Montessori education until they are admitted to Primary/Grade 1. Medium of instruction: English with French as the second language.

Visitors are welcome to visit the school either at 0930 or at 1330 hrs on school days, by prior appointment. Registration?

Applications may be submitted after a child's parents have visited the school during a presentation. They may be done manually or, on-line.

Registration Fees?

$75.00 (non-refundable) payable upon application. No deposit need be placed when a child is registered however acceptance of an application does not automatically guarantee a placement by the requested date in the preferred session.

9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. - $630.00/month, 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. - $575.00/per month and 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. - $950.00/per month, payable in advance. Before and after care is available by special arrangement. Please contact the office for details. Refunds are made in accordance with the enrolment agreement. Deposit is non-refundable. You may also refer to the office for terms of payment and submission of withdrawal notices.

Calendar?

School Year is from September to June (the following year). Holidays are in December, March and August and there is a Summer Programme for the month of July (coinciding with the Toronto Board of Education school holidays).

Sessions?

9:00am -12:00pm and 1:00pm- 4.00pm for half day and 9:00am - 4:00pm for full day (Mondays to Fridays). Morning placements require a considerable waiting period. Most new applicants usually secure afternoon placements and are given the option of moving to the morning session when a placement in that session becomes available. Both sessions however are identical in content although children doing a full day would have varied activities in the afternoon.

Admission?

Placements are offered on application number basis when vacancies are available and the child aged 2 1/2 or older, is found to be emotionally independent to be in school for 3 hours a day. Children who are considered for admission must be toilet trained. Usual intakes are in September and January each school year.

Staffing?

Our Montessori teachers are Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) trained personnel.
